John McManus Elected to Randolph-Macon College Alumni Board

John W. McManus, PhD '84, of Kirkland, WA, was recently elected to the Randolph-Macon College Board of Directors of the Society of Alumni. His term will expire in 2015. McManus is chief information officer at Watermark Estate Management Services LLC.

The Board of Directors of the Society of Alumni is comprised of 37 members, from class years spanning seven decades, who are elected for staggered three-year terms. The members are expected to serve on a standing committee; be active ambassadors for student recruitment efforts; actively support initiatives associated with the Board's strategic priorities; and support the Randolph-Macon Fund.

Founded in 1830, and ideally located in historic Ashland, Virginia, just minutes north of Richmond and 90 miles south of Washington D.C., Randolph-Macon College is a selective, co-educational, nationally-recognized liberal arts college with a mission of "developing the minds and character of its students." The college achieves this mission through a combination of personal interaction and academic rigor. Enrollment is approximately 1,250 with a student-faculty ratio of 11:1 and an average class size of 15 students.
